Privacy policy
Short version: no accounts, no cookies, no advertising trackers.
What we collect
- Anonymous event counts. When you click a link to a vendor's site, use the comparison filters, or change a side-by-side selection, your browser sends a small message to our server: the event name, the type of page, and a tool ID. It contains no IP address, no cookie, no user ID and no device fingerprint. We store only those three values, counted in Cloudflare Workers Analytics Engine.
- Server and security logs. Our host, Cloudflare, processes standard request data (such as IP address and user agent) to deliver the site and protect it from abuse, under Cloudflare's privacy policy. We don't build profiles from it.
- Cloudflare Web Analytics (if enabled). We may turn on Cloudflare's cookieless analytics, which measures page views and performance without cookies or cross-site tracking. If it's enabled, a script loads from static.cloudflareinsights.com.
- Email. If you email us, we receive your address and message and use them only to reply. Mail to our domain is forwarded through Cloudflare Email Routing to our inbox.
What we don't do
No cookies, local storage profiles, ad networks, social widgets, embedded videos or third-party fonts. We don't sell or share personal information. Because we don't sell or share personal information as defined by California law, there is nothing to opt out of; you can still contact us with any privacy request.
Links to other sites
Vendor sites have their own privacy practices. Leaving our site to visit one is covered by their policy, not ours.
Children
The site is a professional reference and isn't directed to children under 13.
